Psychotherapy provides the opportunity to speak as openly as you can about whatever is on your mind. This talking process enables us to work together to explore and understand the underlying causes of problems and offers the possibility of change.
Regular sessions offer a setting in which problems, conscious and unconscious, can be explored and recognised.
Over a period of time, a greater understanding of patterns of relating to others, increases the potential for change and emotional development.
You may wish to have some short term counselling to focus on a particular issue that is troubling you. That might or might not, lead on to more in-depth therapy.
If you have relationship difficulties, counselling with your partner can result in greater understanding and changes in the way you relate to each other.
Couples are usually seen together and appointments can be offered outside working hours if that is helpful.
